Michelle Southard, DO, FACOS, FACS is a board-certified Plastic & Reconstructive surgeon in solo private practice at Resilient Plastic Surgery, PLLC in Fort Worth, Texas. She specializes in breast reconstruction, aesthetic/cosmetic surgery, and breast and body contouring including breast augmentation, breast reduction, mastopexy, abdominoplasty, liposuction, arm lift, thigh lift, and injectables. Dr. Southard completed her undergraduate education at University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, a Specialization in Biochemistry with Distinction, and a minor in Spanish Linguistics. She attended medical school at the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia and graduated with Honors. She then completed her General Surgery residency at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Southard continued her training with a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Detroit Medical Center/Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She then served on faculty at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan as an Assistant Professor of Surgery for four years. She subsequently moved back to Texas to be closer to family. She currently owns a solo private practice in Fort Worth, Texas. She serves on clinical faculty as an Assistant Professor for medical students at both Texas Christian University Burnett School of Medicine and Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She also actively participates as clinical faculty for the General Surgery residents of the Texas Health Fort Worth General Surgery Residency program. In her free time, Dr. Southard enjoys volunteering with the Junior League of Fort Worth and Under the Bridge Ministries to support and give back to the local community. She also enjoys running, cycling, high-intensity interval training workouts, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
