Andrew is a fourth-year medical student at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. A native of Texas, he graduated from Texas A&M University in 2017, where he was a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. In 2020, he earned his master’s degree from Georgetown University. Andrew completed a summer research internship at the Medical University of South Carolina, focusing on the molecular and immunological mechanisms of partial heart transplantation, a new congenital cardiac procedure. While he continues his research in cardiac surgery, he is passionate about enhancing surgical education for medical students. He is particularly committed to expanding opportunities in cardiothoracic surgery and surgical research for students at smaller institutions. In his leadership roles, Andrew serves as the ACOS-MSS Research Committee Lead, where he develops projects and initiatives to broaden research opportunities for medical students of the college. He is also a member of the Projects and Proposals Committee for the Thoracic Surgery Medical Student Association, working to promote the field to students with limited resources.
