Sharon Beth Larson, DO, MS, FACOS, FACS is the Discipline Chair for Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. Dr. Larson is an adult cardiac surgeon with Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare in Memphis, Tennessee, and has specialization in thoracic transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. She is a graduate of Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California. Dr. Larson completed her training in general surgery at New York University Langone Hospital Brooklyn-Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She completed her training in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr. Larson completed her training in cardiopulmonary transplantation and mechnical circultaory support at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She served as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the Surgical Director of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Program at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Larson served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Baptist Health Sciences University and the Surgical Director of Cardiac Transplant, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and ECMO at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She is a member of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, the American Osteopathic Association, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the Women in Thoracic Surgery Association, the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, and the Lillehei Surgical Society.
