Saikiran Murthy, DO, is a neurosurgeon and Assistant Professor at the Leo M. Davidoff Department of Neurosurgery at Montefiore-Einstein. He specializes in the surgical treatment of spinal disorders and has a clinical interest in cervical and thoracolumbar spinal deformities.
Dr. Murthy got his B.A. at New York University, Master's in Medical Sciences from Boston University, and his D.O. from NYCOM. He completed his Internship at New York Hospital Queens, his Neurology Residency at Brown University, his Neurosurgery Residency at RWJ/Barnabas and Hackensack UMC, and his Spinal Deformity fellowship at the University of Virginia.
The focus of Dr. Murthy’s research is in health systems engineering, intraoperative process mapping, and surgical education. He is certified in Lean Six Sigma and is currently pursuing an Executive MPH at Columbia University. Murthy is board-certified in neurological surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. He is a member of AO Spine North America, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
